Ghintura  galbena – GENTIANA LUTEA,creste numai in zone inalte,de munte.Prefera solul bogat in piatra calcaroasa,in zonele mai umbroase de munte (peste 1500 m altitudine,dar nu zone ocolite de lumina soarelui.In unele tari s-a incercat si reusit aclimatizarea in gradini.Planta atinge o inaltime a tulpinei de 50-150 cm.Radacina plantei,este folosita in medicina naturista.Radacina se scoate din pamant incepand cu prima decada din luna septembrie pana la finele lunii octombrie.Radacina ,trebuie scoasa cu atentie pentru ca in pamant sa mai ramana o parte, din care anul urmator sa rasar o alta planta.Planta este protejata de lege in multe tari si creste in zone de rezervatie naturala.

Radacina,contine substante amare, uleiuri eterice,pectina.La inceput gustul se apropie de dulce dar apoi devine amar puternic.Inca din vechime ghintura galbena, se folosea ca medicament.Datorita principiilor amare,este buna pentru combaterea lipsei poftei de mancare,in tratamentul afectiunilor stomacului si intestinelor.Radacina de ghintura galbena,are o proprietate deosebita:mareste numarul globulelor albe si rosii,sporind capacitatea de aparare a organismului.Ceaiul preparat prin macerare la rece,ajuta in stimularea functiei bilei si ficatului.Totodata combate starile de anemie si starile de debilitate.Ajuta in tratamentul bolilor de inima si al bolilor de rinichi.In unele zone se foloseste si ca mijloc vermifug.Ceaiul din radacina ,combate foarte bine orice fel de frisoane.Atentie foarte mare:radacina de ghintura galbena nu se fierbe.Se prepara fie un extract la rece (o lingurita de radacina maruntita lasata intr-o cana cu apa rece timp de 10 ore) sau se poate folosi sub forma de pulbere (cate o jumatate de lingurita) de doua ori pe zi. Se bea cu un pahar cu apa rece.In zonele muntoase din Germania de sud,din Austria,Italia si Elvetia, se prepara un rachiu traditional numit Enzian.Cate o jumatate de paharel din acest rachiu numit ENZIAN luat la pranz si seara inainte de masa, linisteste stomacul si apara organismul de infectii.
