Cine nu cunoaste acest arbore cantat si laudat in poezii sau cantece ? Atmosfera romantica a unei paduri de mesteceni a fost prinsa de multe ori in panzele multor pictori.
In literatura rusa,mesteacanul a devenit simbol national.
Denumirea stiintifica este BETULA PENDULA.
Mesteacanul creste in medie inalt de 20-25 m,avand coaja alba,pictata cu dungi verticale de culoare inchisa (aproape de negru). Frunzele au forma putin ascutita spre varf si sunt insotite de matisori de culoare galben deschis, ce atarna maiestos.
Inca din antichitate, a fost venerat si folosit pentru desfacerea vrajilor. Astfel,ramurile legate intr-un snop foloseau pentru apararea vitelor de vraji, iar pe de alta parte, vrajitoarele ce erau batute cu ramurile copacului isi pierdeau puterea de a face vraji.

Mesteacan Tratamente Naturiste

In tratamente naturiste, se folosesc in special frunzele de mesteacan , culese primavara si puse la uscat.
Frunzele de mesteacan au efect diuretic (fara a forta rinichii),provoaca transpiratia si ajuta in tratamentul reumatismului si al inflamatiilor de vezica urinara.Din frunzele proaspete se prepara si un adaus pentru baie folosit in tratamentul bolilor de piele dar si pentru spalatul parului, combatand matreata si favorizand un par sanatos si viguros. De fapt,in majoritatea sampoanelor pentru par este continut si extractul acestui arbore (frunze si coaja).
Mesteacanul contine:substante amare,tanini,uleiuri eterice,vitamina C.
Pentru tratarea hidropiziei, adica a retentiei apei in tesuturi, se poate prepara un ceai din patru lingurite varfuite cu frunze maruntite,care se oparesc cu o cana de apa clocotita,se lasa sa stea un minut,se strecoara,apoi se bea. Tratamentul prevede consumarea a doua cani de ceai pe zi.
Pentru bolnavii de reumatism si guta se recomanda ca ceaiul sa fie preparat in acest mod: se pun doua linguri de frunze maruntite intr-o cana (250 ml) cu apa clocotita. Se lasa sa se raceasca. Cand apa are cam 40 grade C se pune un varf de cutit de bicarbonat de sodiu,care are rolul de a neutraliza un acid continut in seva acestui arbore (acidu betuloretinic), sporind efectul diuretic.
O reteta folosita de sateni si care ajuta in tratamentul colicilor intestinale,cuprinde: doua linguri cu suc obtinut din coaja acestui arbore, puse intr-un sfert de litru de vin alb,se lasa sa dea putin in clocot,apoi se bea cu inghitituri mici,in caz de dureri abdominale.
Sucul de mesteacan se colecteaza primavara,crestand putin coaja arborilor, sub care se agata o cutiuta curata si astfel se obtine pe zi cateva linguri de suc.
Acest suc este bun si pentru masarea radacinei parului. Da acestuia un aspect lucios si opreste caderea parului. Dar parul se poate spala si cu o infuzie obtinuta din frunzele acestui arbore ( un pumn de frunze la doi litri de apa clocotita).
Deci in rezumat,ceaiul din frunze se recomanda pentru urmatoarele afectiuniuni: boli de piele,eczeme, boli de rinichi si vezica urinara, reumatism, guta, hidropizie,dureri ale articulatiilor,artroze.

Albastrita este o planta medicinala ierbacee cu tulpina ramificata, inalta pana la un metru; are o culoare alburie si este paroasa. Frunzele alburii si ele, cu marginea intreaga, cele inferioare sunt tripartite, iar cele superioare liniare. Florile de culoare albastra formează inflorescenie capituliforme. Albastrelele, centaurea cyanus, sunt plante medicinale ce cresc anual in zonele cu clima temperata din Europa,Asia si America de Nord. Planta se intalneste frecventa de la campie la munte,in culturile de cereale paioase, prin locurile nisipoase. De la ea se recolteaza florile culese in timpul infloririi (iulie-august). Florile de albastrita contin materii colorante (cianina care este o forma de antocian), mucilagii, tanin etc. Planta poate fi cultivata in cultura organizata si exploatata ca atare. Florile trebuie recoltate manual, cand sunt complet deschise, in zilele insorite dupa ce roua matinala s-a uscat. Preparatele ce au in compozitie flori de albstrele(ceaiuri, infuzii,tincturi, cataplasme, comprese, creme) au proprietati astringente, antiinflamatoare, dezinfectante, spasmolitice.
